Julia MacArthur - Program Development FacilitatorJulia joined Roots to Harvest in September 2016. Her family settled in the northwestern Ontario during the 1940s to seek better lives in the bush, and she was born and raised in Thunder Bay. She has been practicing social work for 10 years, and is into connecting with people in the community who are working at making change happen. Probably because of this, Roots and Julia have crossed paths in Thunder Bay a bunch of times. She always liked the cut of their jib and decided to join them to get back to the roots of her community, which is what has been calling her. Julia has been involved in many grassroots organizations since she was a bored teen, including being a founding member of the Other 10% Youth Group, the Die Active Art Collective, and being a member of the Thunder Bay Walking With Our Sisters committee. Growing runs deeply in her East Coast/Estonian blood, and she loves to share the experiences of growing, making, doing, and figuring it out with others. She also loves food and bikes. A lot.
