Katie Watson - Community Navigator
Katie has always called Thunder Bay home, and has a deep love of the Boreal Forest and the shores of Lake Superior. Strongly immersed in her community, Katie feels this was fostered in her earliest years riding the bus across the city on a regular basis, connecting with whomever would smile back. Katie now spends much of her free time with her kids, either exploring the vast world outside our city walls or hunkering in for long and cozy days at home spending unscheduled time together. Katie completed her HBA in Women Studies and Sociology and has put her pursuit of an MA in Social Justice on hold while she gets hands-on experience. Katie comes to Roots to Harvest with a strong passion to create and expand on safe and inclusive connections in even the most vulnerable populations and is guided by her trust that we all grow by being a part of something bigger than ourselves. Katie holds a deep drive for equity and justice and is thrilled to have the space to elaborate on that work with the support for the R2H team.
